    Description

Bid is for a lot of 4 prints, with glass in wooden frames, approx. 12 1/2" x 9 5/8". Two hang with prints horizontally, two vertically (see photos). One has marking that can be seen on bottom right corner "ROBINSON BROS. 1943" preceded by copyright symbol (photo 6).  Framed by Genesee Picture Frame Co. in Buffalo, N.Y. as 3 have that sticker on back (photo 7).  The backing paper, however, is very torn, deteriorated, stained (photo 9).  Visible beneath backing paper, it looks like a piece of thick cardboard, but I don't want to dismantle to see if the prints are on that or paper below it.  On bottom left of 2 prints are "R 6", the one with sleeping people, and "R 3", pulling the burro. The frames have bamboo design (don't think wood is bamboo) and are intact, though worn, scuffed, soiled. The frame on print of the oxen cart is split at right bottom corner, approx. 1", has a tiny nail added to stabilize it (photo 8).  Each frame has nails at corners and wire on back to hang.
For age, condition overall good, but could use more thorough cleaning and when held to light, a few specks of soil (last photo points to one which is on the image in photo 3 at upper right, enlarge to see) or it may be residue from moisture/age. They can be seen beneath the glass along with some foggy spots apparently on back of glass.
