    This is an outstanding, storybound
    Fine Art Limited Edition
    Lithograph Print
"Precious Things Come in Small Packages"
    Signed & Numbered
    by
    famous
    American Artist Vic Herman
    (1919-1999).
In this Fine Art Print, though the artist presents the wall and step in the piece in great detail and depth, its real focus is on the
    little Mexican girl
. She is a charming picture of innocence. But there is more! When Mr. Herman asked the girl's mother if he could photograph her so that he could later paint a portrait of her. Her mother said, yes, but with two requests.
The first request was that her daughter be allowed to put on her Sunday dress. He said, "Sure". The second request was more important: In his painting, the mother asked that the artist paint the little girl with two arms. She had been born with only one arm. And Mr. Herman, of course, agreed. And he did just that. Now, and for always, her little girl will be seen with both arms! The artist's love of the Mexican people is clearly evident here.
    Mr. Herman
    was, and is, internationally-known as
    "
    The Norman Rockwell of Mexico
    "
because he portrayed the Mexican people in their own culture, doing their normal day-to-day activities as well as at their special times, just as Mr. Rockwell did for the American people. Mr. Herman often gave his artwork
whimsical titles like "Eating Up the Profits"
    , "A Bellyful Means a Happy Heart",
"Birth of a Tycoon of Manana", "Two Heads Are Better Than One
    ",
    and
    "
Patience Is the Companion of Wisdom
    "
    .
    The
"Precious Things Come in Small Packages"
    Image
    was part of the
    "
    Many Faces of Mexico Exhibition
    "
that traveled extensively in Mexico and the United States under the sponsorship of
both the Mexican and American Governments
    . In February 1974,
    American Artist Magazine
    published its
    article
    by Frederic Whitaker,
    "
Vic Herman: Ambassador with a Brush
", a name by which Mr. Herman also became known. His
artwork is today included in numerous public, private, and corporate fine art collections.
