Antique Belber Trunk & Bag Co Military Footlocker, U.S. Army, Labels, MUST READ!

This is by far the coolest trunk I have ever found! You can just see the history on this military footlocker from Belber Trunk & Bag Co.! It has a small metal plate on the top that has the Belber name, a production date of "Jan.3.1928" and also "Phila.Q. M I Dept." which I assume signifying a military department of Belber. It is stamped with "T.G. Burton - U.S. Army" on the top and "Burton" on both ends. There is also a shipping label from "Railway Express Agency Incorporated" as well as a shipping label addressed to "J J M Scandrett" in Savannah, GA. I couldn't find any definitive information online about T.G. Burton, but I did find information about J J M Scandrett. His full name was Jay Johnson Morrow Scandrett and during this time period he was a Professor of Law at Emory University, a still U.S. top-ranked college in Georgia. One of the coolest facts I found is that he was the cousin of Anne Morrow Lindbergh, an author, aviator, and wife of Charles Lindbergh! Apparently, Anne even had an excerpt about Scandrett from her diary in her book "Bring Me A Unicorn". Scandrett himself wrote a couple small books - "The Nazi Disease" (1939) and "What Goes On" (1945) and also served in the US military, becoming a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry Corps. in 1918.
The trunk has seen much use in its days and this shows with all its vintage character. There is staining, bumping, scraping, dirt, rust, etc., but all this helps tell the story of its journey! It measures 31" x 17" x 13" and weighs a whopping 31 lbs (thus the reason for the expensive calculated shipping costs). It is made of metal and what seems to me to be some type of very hard, thick, sturdy plastic or something. I'm not sure exactly what it is, though. As I mentioned, it's very solid and heavy! The handles on the sides are leather (one side is torn, as shown in photo). There is no key present. The lock doesn't want to latch closed, but that might be good since there's no key. Sold as is. This footlocker would be an amazing piece to add to any home and the history it portrays is equally awesome!!!
