Plating gives a bright, shiny, long-lasting, silver-colored finish to a piece and is often found on quality vintage as well as contemporary jewelry. A rare silver-white metal of the Platinum family, Rhodium is the most expensive precious metal and is harder, whiter, and more reflective than platinum, silver, or gold. It is also hypo-allergenic and does not change color like sterling silver.

with very minor wear considering its age! The Rhodium plating is intact and has held the patina at bay as was intended.
