    Description

Vintage Photo of Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. In this famous image President Lincoln is meeting with his future adversary General George B. McClellan and Allan Pinkerton at Antietam during the Civil War in 1862. McClellan would go to the Union officers in the biggest job of his military career while Pinkerton would lead his famous Pinkerton Detective Agency. This image was captured by celebrated pioneer photographer MATHEW BRADY. He was the Legendary photographer that was contracted by Lincoln to photograph the Civil War. This photo was found amongst newspaper wire photos and is captioned on the back. It appears to be a a silver gelatin 2nd generation photo, as it does not have the contrast and clarity an original strike off the glass negative would have. I believe it is circa 1948, from another found with it. Light wear, it measures 5" x 7". Part of image cropped off the top of tent.
