Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How are your photographs processed?
We pride ourselves on bringing you only the finest quality prints by consistently taking advantage of the ever-growing advances in photo technology. One of the ways we achieve this is with giclee, a high resolution, high-fidelity process using a performance-specialized large format printer. Giclee (pronounced zee-CLAY) utilizes inkjet technology, but far more advanced than a standard deskjet. Among other advantages, giclee employs an ulta-wide color gamut using 11 (or more) specified inks. Originally developed as a proofing system for the traditional lithograph, the superior quality and brilliance of the giclee was soon realized. Also, giclees are produced digitally, saving generations of the detail-robbing experienced with older methods such as negatives and plates. This is why giclee, dye sublimation and similar processes have become the gold standard of photographic production in the 21st century, and are employed by the majority of today's reputible photograpic and printhouse developers.
How
do I know your image description is accurate?
We strive to make our photo descriptions as accurate as possible. Descriptions are taken directly from the U.S. Library of Congress, National Archives, or other sources as noted. In many cases, these institutions hold the original negatives and state the ascribed notes directly from the original photographer. Therefore, we use these institutions as our standard of authority on description accuracy. We are not responsible for errors and we will not participate in disputes. Should you have a dispute, please contact the sighted source directly.
This listing provides buyers with the opportunity to review the image and agree with the item description before finalizing a purchase. As such, no refunds will be issued on the basis of an allegedly inaccurate description. We encourage you to feel comfortable with the stated description before ordering.
When can I expect my package?
Items are delivered via USPS First Class mail (2-5 business days) with no longer than one (1) day handling time. Your item should not be considered untimely unless it has not been received after one full week from your payment date (within the United States). Please consider weekends and holidays when anticipating your package arrival date as well.
Is your transit packaging secure?
Great care will be taken to ensure that your item arrives in excellent condition. Prints are shipped flat on cardboard and sealed in a water-resistant envelope or, for 11x14 prints and larger, rolled in a crush-resistant tube. We've successfully shipped thousands of prints in this manner, therefore items will arrive in good order when handled properly.
Please note that we pay extra charges to have parcels delivered as PACKAGES, not regular mail. This means your carrier should deliver your package to your doorstep (not bend or cram it into your mailbox). Should you find your package damaged due to this type of handling, please contact your local post office.
How long do I have to pay?
Payment is expected within (7) seven days.
If payment is not received by the eighth day after purchase, we will i
nitiate
an unpaid item case. We pay fees on all items sold through eBay and this process is the only way to reverse fees incured by unpaid transactions. Should a payment issue arise, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're happy to work with you!
What is your return policy
?
We will happily
exchange
any defective or problematic merchandise. However, cash refunds are not allowed, as your bid is a commitment to buy according to eBay policy. The nature of our merchandise also compells us to protect against being treated as a lending library. Therefore, please be confident of desire for our items before placing your order. We ask that you contact us with any potential issue before leaving negative feedback, as we are committed to your 100% satisfaction and feel any problem can be easily resolved.
