General Stonewall Jackson
Please understand that eBay has made a decision to no longer permit Confederate battle flag and related listings. We believe the image of the flag itself has become a contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism. This is not a reflection or judgement on anyone selling the item and we respect that there are a wide variety of opinions on this issue. We thank you for your understanding and ask you to please not list these kinds of items.

Flag of the18th Regiment. North Carolina pictured above with writing is associated with the shooting of General Jackson*
"FATE DENIED THEM VICTORY BUT GAVE THEM A GLORIOUS IMMORTALITY"
This immortality has been captured in these series of images.
Photograph of Lt. General
Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson
taken at
Spotsylvania County farm, April 26, 1863 seven days before he was mortally wounded.
It has been said that this uniform was a gift from General J.E.B. Stuart. Note the detail of his face, beard, and his collar and rank.
This excellently restored image is a must have for a collector or admirer of General Jackson. You will not find a restored print of this quality anywhere. Serf the web, you will not find any image of this quality anywhere.
•
Lt. Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson (CSA) is my 9th cousin twice removed.
Compare the before From the negative, no retouching and after. Along with what else is available on the internet. The CSA print is outstanding.

Commemorating the 150
th
anniversary of the
Confederate States of America.
*There was speculation at the time that the shooter might have been a soldier(s) that Jackson had offended. Three children of Adam Layman John, Jackson and Preston were drafted into the Confederate Army, Company G, the Valley Guards 10 th. Virginia Infantry. John was later shot for desertion Jackson disregarding pleas from the 10 th. chaplain. it’s Commander Lt. Colonel Samuel Walker along with Pvt Preston Layman. It was understood that Jackson considered shooting them along with the deserters. From the moment, Jackson was shot and for thirty years until his death, Preston Layman claimed he fired on Jackson knowing it would cause a jittery Army to follow suit. Supposedly, they either sent the offender(s) to his death or sent him home. If true it would have been something, the South could not have let known. It would have been upsetting that a Southerner would have done something like this."
It is interesting to note that General Forrest always traveled with a body guard of at least 50 hand picked troops and 100 or more depending on the battle. Once, after being shot by a subordinate (Willis Gould said "no man can accuse me of cowardice and live!"), General Forrest pulled a knife and stabbed him with his pen knife, remarking "no damed man kills me and lives". General Forrest survived his wounds, however his attacker was not so fortunate. This took place in a building that the General used as his HQ. His body guard was not around him.

About the materials used to make these prints.
"Wilhelm Imaging Research is currently testing the Lucia pigment-based inks... A review of preliminary test data indicates that prints made with the Lucia pigmented inks and select Canon photo and fine art papers will have WIR Display Permanence Ratings in excess of 100 years for color images and significantly beyond that for monochrome.
In other words a 100 years from now this photograph will look as does today.
These images are reproduced directly from digital files made from the original
negative: glass, wet collodion (digital file from the original negative). The files often exceed (1 1/2) one and half gigabits in the finished size and printed from a 16 bits files. The quality
does not get any better then this.
The images are printed on archival paper with archival inks on a (12) color professional
printer, then cross sprayed with a UV coating.
Any other method of reproducing these images, which were made directly from, a digital file from the original negative, only introduces several addition steps taking away quality from the original and introducing archival questions.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
THE MAJORITY OF THESE IMAGES BEAR THE SIGNATURE OF THE GENERAL ON THE PRINT, EXCEPT AS NOTED. THESE PHOTOGRAPHS
HAVE NOT
BEEN AUTOGRAPHED BY R. E. LEE OR ANY OTHER GENERAL or M.B. Brady, THOUGH IT APPEARS TO LOOK THAT WAY.
I will leave feedback once the product has been received and the customer has left feedback on my page. This lets me know that you the customer have received the package and are happy with your purchase.
Errata:
SOME people
seem a little confused as to my descriptions: (I want nobody to be disappointed in there purchase, I take great pride in what I do).
Let me make myself perfectly clear. What you see, is what you get, the image on eBay is the PRODUCT you will receive, and in all cases better. I have described in great detail each item and exactly what it is. If you have any requests or questions please do not hesitate to ask before you order, I will be happy to answer them.
Know what you are buying.
It is what it is, a
Museum Quality print
made and restored from a digital file using the original old glass negative and in rare instances an antique print, it is
NOT
an original print made in the 1860's or 70's and restored,
(seems I had one buyer expecting an original print made in 1870 with the actual signatures for .95) it is a
restored
archival digital reproduction, with the General's signature carefully applied.
