it is made from 4 solid rectangles, with a larger central medallion
the rectangles & clasps are connected using myriad beautiful color-themed seed beads
The inset color in this necklace likely comes from reconstituted gemstones.   With the increasing scarcity and escalating cost of Red Coral, tiny chips or cast-offs from the grinding process that are left over from larger projects are further finely ground and then bound or fused with a resin.  This method can be used to create a paste-like consistency that allows the artist to press the mixture inside of even fine lines, to create beautiful detailing.  Alternatively, the resin may be broken into pieces, to give a more "stone-like" appearance
