This is a very rare Vietnam Era (1967) wooden ROCKET explosives shipping crate addressed to or from St. Louis Ordinance Plant, from or to Martin Baker Aircraft Co. LTD. Front reads "Rocket Motors Lutnd R-2 / 24x20x / S/N H1256 / Contract No (labels cover the rest)". One side reads "Martin Baker A/C Co. LTD. / Lower Denham, England / ICC Class B ICC IA / Storage Compatability Class II / NETT Grain Weight IN Explosives". Next side reads "MC DONNELL / Hanley IND INC. / St. Louis Ordinance Plant / 4575 Goodfellow / St. Louis MO USA". This classified wooden box of explosives, or parts of explosives was being sent from the St. Louis Ordinance Plant to Martin Baker Aircraft Co. LTD. Martin-Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. is a British manufacturer of ejection seats and safety-related equipment for aviation. The company's origins were originally as an aircraft manufacturer before becoming a pioneer in the field of ejection seats. The company's headquarters are in Higher Denham, Buckinghamshire, England with other sites in France, Italy and the United States.
